Your questions, answered.

The ideal time for aeration and overseeding is early fall or early spring. Fall is especially effective because soil temperatures are still warm, there's less weed competition, and new grass has time to establish before winter. Spring is a good secondary option if you missed the fall window.

Right after aeration is one of the best times to overseed. The holes left by the aerator allow grass seed to settle directly into the soil, improving germination.

With granular fertilizer, it’s best to wait about 24 hours before watering. This gives the product time to settle in without getting washed away too soon. For liquid fertilizer, a few hours is usually enough before watering.
